The house itself is complete luxury and the location was incredible, you basically have the whole beach to yourself. Amal, the caretaker, was attentive, professional and helpful at all times. He is an excellent chef, who cooked local fresh specialties for us throughout our stay. Rowan from Canada, 2016 "I rented out Villa Nilaveli with the intent of using it as a vacation home for my family for a week, and as a venue for our small destination wedding. Hermes was very understanding and informative from the beginning as I was still nailing down dates and coordinating flights etc. The Villa far exceeded our expectations. Amal's presence was especially helpful to us and he arranged everything we asked of him promptly. Unlike the experience I had during other stays in Sri Lanka, there were very little to no miscommunications. Our several trips to town, renting bikes, home cooked meals, dolphin and whale watching, and an excursion to Pigeon Island was easily arranged. Amal even showed us how to hunt for sand crabs, and stayed up very late one night to receive lost luggage that was being delivered by the airport. He was extremely understanding with young children being around, and also accommodating for the wedding that we held there. By the end of the trip, we could call him friend. The outdoor shower really came in handy for the kids constantly getting sandy and hot. The kids loved playing with the dogs, kittens and other animals they came across in the yard. The hammocks are extremely relaxing and breezy most days. It was no worries, and paradise every day! The Villa was truly the perfect setting for our small destination wedding of 40 people. The beach is private and beautiful, the ceremony took place just beyond the gate. The backyard has a long walkway, which was used as the wedding aisle, there is plenty of open space in the yard to set up tables, a bar, a dance floor, tables for the catered buffet. While the Villa does not organize weddings, they were very flexible in working with the wedding planner and my mother in law who visited several times ahead of time. We were able to have our beautiful dream wedding with our closest family and friends. Our family truly had a memorable time at the Villa, and hope to return someday." Cindy from USA, 2015. |
